MENTORING IS ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS God uses people to encourage us and help us grow closer to Him. Only as we develop authentic relationships with each other will the walls begin to come down and allow us to open up and share our heart with others. Mentoring provides an environment that promotes these quality relationships.
MENTORING IS A MINISTRY In this ministry, people are matched “one-on-one” to encourage, support and form friendships.
MENTORS • A mentor is committed to serve as a Christian friend, prayerful teacher and wise counselor.
• Mentors seek to encourage, comfort, and pray for their mentee to live as a child of God.
• Mentoring is a partnership. The mentor and mentee make a covenant to work together toward their determined goals.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please call Teresa or Layton McCown via the church office.
MENTEES • A mentee is one who desires a relationship with a nurturing Christian for the purpose of encouragement, counsel and prayer.
• A mentee is willing to make the necessary sacrifices to keep his or her relationship a priority.
• A mentee is open to suggestions that might encourage change.
If you are interested in having a mentor, please contact Teresa or Layton McCown via the church office at 330-929-4717.
