Name: David Deikun
Location: Hainan Island, China

David Deikun is helping to bring Christ to the poverty-stricken Li people of Hainan Island, China.  David and his coworkers run a school for minority kids on a reservation (large government housing project).  Libai School now serves over 400 children from preschool to 4th grade.  More importantly, the school is a kind of Christian training ground for many local Li young people hired to work at the school.  These young people attend many weekly devotionals and Bible studies and are being encouraged to witness among their people.

David performs many jobs at the school.  Among them are public relations (webmaster, fundraiser, contact person), designer/recorder for teaching materials, home school teacher for a coworker’s daughter, gardener, and general fix-it man.  David also regularly leads Bible studies and takes groups of young people into the village to encourage and pray with local Christians.

In China,  Christianity is considered a peculiarly feminine interest.  David is, therefore, providing much needed role model for young local Christians.  Please pray for the work in Hainan Island, China.
